IEI is known for its medical building construction in Wisconsin

COVID-19 precautions and safety are focuses of today’s medical building construction

Safety has always been front and center when it comes to medical building construction in Wisconsin, and IEI General Contractors now includes COVID-19 precautions as part of our commitment to worker and employee well-being.

IEI’s extensive experience with medical building construction in Wisconsin includes projects ranging from upgrades to existing facilities through new buildings from the ground up. Safety takes on an even greater significance when construction takes place in close proximity to ongoing operations.

That was the case when IEI added a second unit to Bellin Health’s cancer treatment facility in Ashwaubenon, blending new space with the existing building. The $3 million project also featured a specialized, concrete-walled room for an upgraded linear accelerator.

A 51,500-square-foot interior build-out within HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center in Green Bay also required special attention to employee safety. Complete remodeling of the central sterilization space required that our teams keep the existing sterilization space in operation.

Medical building construction starting from scratch

IEI has partnered with multiple health care organizations for medical building construction projects over the past 15 years, including several from the ground up. One of our larger projects was the $23 million Bellin Health Marinette clinic.

This two-story, multi-specialty clinic encompassed 78,000 square feet to house high-end technology, a physical therapy room, patient exam rooms and physician offices. The second phase included a 25,000-square-foot surgery center addition.

IEI has served in the roles of construction manager, general contractor and/or subcontractor for a number of medical building construction projects. Our teams often self-perform concrete, masonry and carpentry work on these projects.
