Base frames serve as foundations for machines and vessels

Robinson Metal Base FramesRobinson Fabrication & Machine offers expertise for multiple applications

Industrial customers come to Robinson Fabrication & Machine, a division of Robinson Metal, Inc., with all types of metal fabrication and structural fabrication needs. Intricate projects can require complete skid fabrication services from the ground up, while other projects may require only base frames on which to set a piece of machinery or pressure vessel.

Either way, Robinson Fab & Machine’s wide-ranging expertise in weldments and other fabrication services provides a dependable partner in creating safe, high-quality assets. Its comprehensive in-house service offerings enable better schedule control compared to competitors who need to outsource portions of projects.

“Our strength is being able to not only waterjet-cut and fabricate base frames, but also the ability to machine them and hold to tight tolerances,” says Jamie Tilkens, Robinson Fab & Machine division manager. “Accuracy is the key to delivering high-quality base frames.”

Large-scale capabilities highlight base frames production

Robinson Fab & Machine has the capability of fabricating base frames as large as 208-by-108 inches, with support capacities of close to 35,000 pounds for large-scale projects such as pipe and vessel units. Packaging, paper, food industry and bottle filling applications featuring stainless steel are among the most common base frames projects.

A WARDJet R-2014 large format, high-precision waterjet is among Robinson Metal’s recent technology investments. The WARDJet R-2014 provides Robinson technicians with a 14-by-20-foot bed size and 60,000 psi power for large format precision cutting.

High-quality weldments are a key component to base frames. Robinson Fab & Machine’s team is capable of creating and qualifying welding procedures for projects that are outside ranges of existing procedures.
